Every Wednesday, I look at women who inspire me, and I have a bit of a life crush on.
Why?
Because I want to find and share great women (real and fictional) to live up to!
Today is Marie Forleo!
Who Is Marie Forleo?
Marie Forleo is an energetic, multi-talented entrepreneur. She’s the brains behind B-school, Marie TV and a New York Times Best Selling Book.
Marie has a “Go Get ‘Em” approach to life. She follows her multiple passions and gives herself room to grow, even if they are chalk and cheese! She’s a dance coach/choreographer and a motivational speaker and an author, and an entrepreneur – sometimes all at the same time. As someone who does like to jump between passions, it’s quite refreshing to see someone go against the “Be one thing” grain.
She also has incredible hair and makeup.
Why Is Marie Forleo An Inspiration?
Marie Forleo’s best selling book “Everything Is Figureoutable” was an “A-HA” moment for me. As a chronic worrier, “Everything is Figureoutable” gave me a mantra to help combat any anxieties I may have.
The saying comes from Marie’s mum. The story goes that Marie’s mother was always trying new things. Fixing the roof, decorating and even repairing a radio by taking the whole thing apart. When Marie asked he mother how she knew to do so many things, she simply replied, “everything is figureoutable”.
And it’s so true.
The book covers a mindset shift to a “How does this work” approach, rather than running away from your problems. I have been guilty of this in the past. The book shows that you’ll work it out if you are passionate enough about it, even if it isn’t perfect.
This twigged something in my brain, and despite all my ambitions, all I needed to do is jump in and get going, and a week after reading the book, I applied for Uni… and got it!
We can cross each bridge when we come to it.
Marie Forleo is the type of person I want to be when I grow up.
